  • Career opportunities are diverse, with over 350 different occupations available. It is one of the fastest growing sectors in Australia.
  • As at June 2009, over 11,000 business and organisations provided community services, including 5,809 not-for-profits, 4,638 for-profits and 520 government organisations.
  • Residential care is the largest area of community service expenditure.
  • As the proportion of elderly Australians aged over 65 will double in the next 30 years, the demand for aged care will continue to increase.
