Awards for Brisbane HSA graduates

Two Brisbane Health Skills Australia graduates received awards along with their nursing diplomas, at the recent graduation ceremony.

Jessica Baartz (pictured, right) was selected by HSA faculty members for the college’s prestigious Rosemary MacKenzie Award.

The honour remembers the Australian nurse who trained in the 1950s and retired in 1999, after a career that included setting up the Bachelor of Nursing at Flinders University as well receiving as a long list of awards for her services to nursing innovation, dementia and aged care. Rosemary MacKenzie, who passed away in 2006, was the the mother of HSA founder, Chris White.

The Outstanding Academic Achievement Award went to Shelby Kanasa (pictured, left), who enrolled at HSA after completing her high school studies.
