Make a difference caring for people

When you’re working with the elderly, medical patients, people with disabilities or mental health issues, there are essential practical skills you need, as well as a strong foundation in theoretical knowledge.

Health Skills Australia offers a wide range of training programs that have been developed in close consultation with the health care and community services sectors. All of our courses are nationally accredited and can lead to new learning pathways, including degree programs, or help you fast-track your career.

Student Handbook

The Handbook is the official source of information about Health Skills Australia programs, therefore providing essential information for students undertaking study with HSA. Information in the handbook is distributed throughout the ‘Studying at HSA’ tab of the HSA website and students are advised that information contained here may be altered, amended or deleted from time to time.  As students agree to be bound and abide by the policies, procedures and terms set out in these pages, students are advised to always check the current version of information available.

Specialist training in the latest methods and industry best practice

Our courses are constantly updated to include the latest training methods and content to provide students with the most relevant knowledge and skills for entry into the workforce.  Most of our courses include clinical and practical placements, where students have the opportunity to gain experience and work in organisations related to their study.

Clinical and practical placement

Our coordinated placement programs give you the opportunity to develop a real understanding of the industry in which you want to work. It also lets you take your learning in the classroom and apply it to real situations. It is during these placements that you begin making a difference to the lives of people in care.

For many of our students, placement also leads to permanent employment with the organisation in which they completed their experience.  For further information about clinical placements click here.

Individual attention and support

At Health Skills Australia we pride ourselves on providing students with an education of the highest quality. Our smaller class sizes enable students to really get to know one another, as well as their educator. Each student is well supported throughout their course and during their clinical placements.  For detailed information click here.

Professional educators with real life experiences

All of our educators are practising industry professionals with real life experience, providing students with a perspective beyond the theory and numbers. Our nationally accredited courses have been developed by health care professionals, for health care professionals.
