2017 Fees and Funding - Queensland - New Student Enrolments

Tuition Fees

HSA courses are priced per module or unit and you pay term by term, for the modules or units in which you have enrolled. The fees specified below are effective from Term 1, 2017.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) 

If you wish to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) in our accredited Diploma of Nursing course this will be treated as a tuition fee of 50% (of the Full Fee Student Tuition Fee for each unit of competency).

(If during or after your enrolment, the course in which you are enrolled is updated in line with national industry standards, HSA reserves the right to transition you into the updated course. If this becomes necessary, HSA will advise you of the change and the arrangements which will be available for you to complete the updated course)

 Notes:

Course Tuition Fees:

The 2017 maximum course tuition fee quoted is applicable to all students who:

  • begin study in the applicable study period; and
  • maintain a course enrolment consistent with HSA's Enrolment rules and complete their studies within the advised maximum course duration. HSA Enrolment rules require that students enrol in every compulsory study period unless a deferral period has been prior applied for and approved); and
  • successfully complete each unit on first attempt. Course guide information can be found here 
The advised maximum course fee will be exceeded where a student re-enrols in a unit of competency (or units or competency) for any reason.
Reasons for reenrolment in a unit may include (but are not limited to):
  • The student having been assessed as not yet competent in a unit (or units) which requires the unit to be reattempted; or
  • The student having not completed a unit (or units) for another reason and having not withdrawn from the unit (or units) by the census date.

Other fees:

1. Late re-enrolment fee: $50
2. National Police Check fee : approx $25 annually
3. Variation to enrolment after the re-enrolment date: $50
4. Fees for deferrals and withdrawals after census date (students are liable for tuition fees unless special circumstances is approved)

5.  Replacement clinical laboratory workbooks - $30.00
6. Replacement clinical practicum logbooks - $20.00
7. Clinical practicum make-up fees and fees associated with placement cancellation - see student handbook here
8. Postage fee for uniform: $10.00
9. Student ID replacement: $10.00
10.  Official Transcript: $20.00

 

EFTSL - Equivalent Full Time Student Load

Equivalent full-time student load (EFTSL) is a measure of a student's study load. An EFTSL of 1.0 is the standard annual study load of a student undertaking a course on a full-time basis over the duration of a year. The annual EFTSL sum of a student's module / unit enrolment provides an indication of the study load undertaken by the student in the year.
